Are you looking for a preschool to care for your child with love and all-round personal attention? Then you've come to the right place! We provide a caring and warm-hearted atmosphere for your child.
We are able to offer 2, 3 and 4 year old funding.
2 year funding is available, however certain criteria must be met.
3 / 4 year old funding is available the term after your child's 3rd birthday.
As an OfSted registered early years provider we follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
The EYFS has 7 areas; 3 prime and 4 specific. They are Communication and Language Development; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; and Expressive Arts and Design.
We cover all 7 areas during all sesions both indoors and outdoors.
All children will have a key worker who you, as the main carer, can liaise with. The key worker will chart your childs development in their own learning journal which is securely stored online. Access to your childs journal is granted only to those who have parental rights and responsibilities and is accessed via a password which is set by yourself. The key worker will carry out a progress check for all children who are 2 years old which will be shared with the parents/carers. Yearly progress reviews will also be conducted and parents/carers invited into the setting to discuss this.
As a provider which has been established for 20 years we have good links with outside agencies and can call on them if we have identified a child who may need additional support to ensure this is put into place as early as possible.
We offer a lunchclub at two of our sessions. Children bring their own lunch in with them in their lunchbox and sit in small groups with staff members. This is a very social event with lots of
underlying learning and fully prepares the children for lunch at big school.
Please see our Useful Documents page which has some useful lunchbox suggestions.
We visit the local park as regularly as we can. The children are able to use the play equipment and we use the visit as a learning opportunity in terms of road/stranger danger and risk
We also visit the local library where the children are able to choose some books to take back to the setting.
For children who are preparing for school, and those more able, we have school time structured into the session. These sesions aid concentration and pen control and focus on literacy and mathematics. The children also have the opportunity to complete homework which is taken home in their own bookbag.
If you would like a place for your child at our preschool, please make an appointment and we'll gladly take the time to explain everything you need to know. You can make an appointment by phone or by using our contact form. We look forward to meeting you!
